'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'A Shameful Soap Opera'

The Coventry Telegraph has added its name to those fighting to keep Coventry City in their home city after Thursday's story broke that a groundshare with Northampton Town is to be pursued.

Calling on club owners SISU to take the opportunity offered by ACL to remain at the Ricoh Arena in the short-term, the newspaper states: 'It will leave the club - already a shadow of its proud former self - as a sham, a sick joke.'

The Football Supporters' Federation has issued a statement in which they say: 'Football is not a normal business, clubs are woven into the fabric of their area's history. The game's governing bodies should act earlier to stop things ever going this far.'

Supporters Direct have also commented and say that the Football League 'in their position as a regulator' will be being watched closely by everyone involved.

Strong stuff from all three parties and an indication of the strength of feeling on this matter.
