Away Is The New Home

Away Is The New Home

With an average of over 1,000 supporters per game following Coventry City on their travels last season could the 2013/14 campaign throw up some statistical quirks very rarely seen in English football?

If the Sky Blues do play their 'home' games outside of Coventry then it is likely that on at least one occasion next season they have more fans supporting them at an away game than their average home attendance.

A repeat of the 4,988 who went to MK Dons would surely do that while more City fans are likely to change their habits and go to more away games having vowed not to put money into the CCFC coffers while 'home' games are played elsewhere.

Now that it has been (nearly) confirmed that we will be playing at Sixfields we will see this scenario. Big away followings, supporting the team and protesting against the owners and the numbers going to MK, Wolves, Walsall all bigger than 'home' gates.
