Blades Beckon For Carsley

Blades Beckon For Carsley

Lee Carsley has ended his association with Coventry City by becoming part of the backroom staff at Sheffield United under their new manager David Weir.

'Lee is someone I trust immensely and his experience at this level will prove invaluable to us,' said the Scot, appointed recently as Blades boss.

Carsley's two spells as a player with City were both frustrating as he joined a struggling side in December 2000 just in time for the final few months of their Premiership life and was then unable to reach his former heights when made something of a marquee signing by Aidy Boothroyd in 2010.

He then worked in various coaching capacities at the Ricoh Arena, including development coach, first-team coach and interim manager for a short spell last season.
