CCFC: Less Than Five Weeks To...?
Less than five weeks remain before the start of the Football League season and Coventry City`s opening day trip to face Crawley Town.
Less straightforward is the fact that one week later the Sky Blues are due to 'host` Bristol City despite not yet having confirmed where their home stadium for 2013/14 will be.
Add in the fact that CCFC remain in administration (or one part of it at least) and under a transfer embargo and it adds up to a hugely confusing picture for supporters at what should be an optimistic time of year.
Announcements from the club themselves indicate that it is all just a matter of time before the matters in hand are sorted, players are signed and a stadium is found.
That would leave fans with their own decisions to make on what level of involvement they have with the Sky Blues if they were to be playing outside of Coventry and/or with the current owners in place.
Some will not break the habit of attending matches, others may pick and choose and a sizeable amount will boycott anything that hands money to the club.
But what if the dotting of the i`s and crossing of the t`s is not done? Will the Football League suddenly decide that enough is enough?
The excellent blog at 200% suggests that City`s situation may be the one that finally forces the football authorities into taking tougher action regarding clubs that go into administration and blocking some of the loopholes that SISU appear to have exploited.
The Sky Blues, however, may be the ones that get away.
