England tie to attract the crowds

Over 6,0000 tickets have been sold for the England Under-21's European Championship play-off fixture against Germany, to be held at the Ricoh Arena a week on Friday.

The Sky Blues are looking for a near-capacity crowd for the game in the hope that more international fixtures will be awarded to their new stadium.

Liz Cooper, Director of Key Accounts, Sponsorship and Marketing at the Ricoh Arena, told the Coventry Evening Telegraph: 'I think the excitement of such a big game against good opposition has really caught the mood of people living in the city and surrounding area.

'That is reflected in the amount of tickets we have sold so quickly and hopefully that will continue in the run-up to the game.

'Coventry City games have shown that there is a great atmosphere in the Ricoh Arena and we want as many people as possible to the England game to recreate that.

'We want it to be a great occasion so hopefully the FA will bring more of these games to Coventry.'

Can't wait! I think the Ricoh should hold more 'other-than-coventry' games. Conference play-off final for example. It really is a great venue.
