Then There Were Eight (Interested In City)

The Coventry City saga moved forward ever so slightly this weekend with the news that eight parties have expressed an interest in buying Coventry City FC Limited, the company that is currently in administration and that does hold the 'Golden Share' enabling membership of the Football League.

Administrator Paul Appleton, however, has made it clear that current owners SISU are one of the interested parties and that Coventry City Holdings may claim to have beneficial ownership of the Share.

He also downplayed the Share's importance given that Holdings have control over player contracts and a number of other things.

May 31st is, therefore, set to be the next time we get some concrete news. In the meantime there will doubtless be more claim and counter-claim from the two warring parties, SISU and ACL.
