'Highfield Two' - Bonkers Or Brilliant?

Thursday's Coventry Telegraph reveals more of Coventry City's plans to build a new stadium, 'closer to the city centre than the Ricoh Arena' and closer in spirit to Highfield Road than the Ricoh.

Bonkers or brilliant? Vote now in the Vital Poll currently running on the site.

***Our view***On their own the stadium plans sound good. A purpose-built stadium created for CCFC that created a good atmosphere, was almost always full (with scope to expand) and where the club owned all of the revenue streams.

The Ricoh Arena has become the focal point of this whole saga but in itself it is a stadium not loved by many fans.

But, and it is a huge but. Even if the plans look like being delivered, surely three years away from Coventry will kill the club? If the owners want to do this then why not do a deal to rent the Ricoh until the stadium is built?

Moving to Walsall will incur a cost for renting that stadium, a huge drop in income and an ever greater loss of goodwill (if there is any left).
