Scowcroft on City clash

James Scowcroft comes up against his former Coventry City teammates for the first time on Saturday as the Sky Blues travel to his new club Crystal Palace.

'I hope it will be a good game but, from Palace's point of view, I know it will be very tough,' said the 500,000 summer signing.

'Coventry have picked up well and had an OK start to the season and, knowing the manager as I do, they will be very difficult to play against.

'Pagey is a real competitor and always gives 110 per cent and I'm sure he will do that on Saturday as will Elliott Ward, with whom he has struck up a decent partnership at the back.'
