Under-21 honour for Coventry City

The Ricoh Arena's first taste of international football will come on Friday 6th October after the home of Coventry City was chosen for England under-21's crucial European Championship play-off first leg against Germany.

Under-21's boss Peter Taylor told the FA's official website: 'The Ricoh Arena is a magnificent new stadium and the perfect venue for a big match like this.

'England - Germany is a classic at any level and we know from last year how tough it will be.

'Germany always produce powerful, well-organised and technically accomplished teams that are very hard to beat.

'Hopefully with a big, passionate crowd behind us we can get off to a winning start.'

The winners of the two-leg tie will take their place in the finals of the European Championships, to be held in Holland next summer.

I wonder if any city players are picked. Thats the usual ploy to put bums on seats

No one to really pick at the minute though without Giddings being available
CET Stander
hopefully a good night Is there any news on Stuart Giddings?

What great news. Just what the Stadium deserves. Giddings was back in training the last I heard, lets hope he makes an appearance.
