Awful Week Finishes On A High

Awful Week Finishes On A High

After the worst ten days in the history of Coventry City there was some cheer on Saturday afternoon at the Ricoh when the Sky Blues beat Doncaster Rovers by a goal to nil.

The all important winner came on 13 minutes when Cyrus Christie cut into the penalty area and fired home. Considering everything that has gone on in the lead up to this game, you have to hand top marks to the Sky Blues' players for their 110% performance and deserved win.

Speaking after the game, City boss Steven Pressley felt that the players 'were a credit to the club' while opposite number Brian Flynn told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The result is a slight kick in the teeth for us - they're the first team to do a double over us, so they deserve some credit - but tactically we were superb second half and had some great chances."

Well done to all the players and staff after a difficult week. A great victory but a hollow one sadly with the points deduction.
