Business As Usual? City Eye 60 (Or 50) Points

Coventry City take on Hartlepool United this Saturday in League One but the big match is pencilled in for March 22nd when Arena Coventry Limited take on CCFC in the High Court as the Ricoh rent battle steps up another gear.

Claiming that the move could have positive long-term effects, ACL chairman Nicholas Carter said: 'Had we not taken this action, then the alternative might have been catastrophic for CCFC.'

In response, Sky Blues chief executive Tim Fisher told the club website that the court hearing had been prepared for and that it was 'business as usual' for the day-to-day running of the club.

For manager Steven Pressley that means the Hartlepool game and the chance to move City on to 60 points, a figure that could be reduced by 10 in the very near future although the Scot has said that 'there is nothing but positivity' on the football side of the club.

Leon Clarke has been ruled out for the remainder of the season so Pressley's key decision for the weekend is whether to hand a start to Callum Wilson after his energetic display as a substitute on Tuesday night helped City claw back a point against Colchester United.

John Hughes has called us the best team he has seen in League One but we did win 5-0 up at their place. Be nice to see City cut loose tomorrow but Pools have improved a lot since then.

I think the players have got to been affected by this week's events. Stuff about the rent will go over their heads but knowing that a 10-point penalty is just around the corner must make them think 'why bother'
