Man City Youngster To Face Sky Blues
Scunthorpe face Coventry City at Glanford Park on Saturday afternoon and will have a new goalkeeper against the Sky Blues after agreeing a one-month loan deal for Manchester City youngster Eirik Holmen Johansen.
The Norwegian Under-21 international, 20, will get his first taste of senior football in England with the Iron having lost Sam Slocombe to injury.
'The ideal scenario would have been someone with plenty of league experience but those kind of players are not available,' admitted United manager Brian Laws. 'I think if we`re going to go down the line of a young, hungry keeper, then he's ideal.'
Johansen will face Leon Clarke at the weekend as the striker looks to add to the 20 goals he has scored this season, a figure which includes 11 for Scunthorpe from a productive loan spell earlier in the campaign.
'Scunthorpe gave me the platform to get my move to Coventry at the end of the day, so I will always show them respect and respect for the fans, so if I do score I won`t celebrate,' he told the Coventry Telegraph.
'I left on good terms; everyone was really nice to me and I always look out for their results because of my spell there.'
