Robins To Resign From CCFC?

Mark Robins' brief reign as Coventry City manager appears to be at an end as reports on Tuesday night suggest he wants to become the new Huddersfield Town boss despite not being granted permission to talk to the Championship club.

The 43-year-old is said to have 'cleared his desk' at the club's training ground while waiting for the Terriers to pay the six-figure compensation clause that will allow him to leave.

A host of reasons and rumours are already being mooted for Robins' apparent desire to leave but it may simply come down to having an offer from a club in a higher division, one which most players would take.

Having briefly awoken the Sky Blues from their slumbers it does seem strange that he would leave so soon, especially for a club in a relegation scrap and who would not appear to offer the potential for the future that City have.

As always, however, the club remains far bigger than any individual, especially one who has been there for only five months. Tuesday night's results leave City seven points off the play-offs but still with something to play for in the remaining months of the campaign. A short-term appointment until the end of the campaign may be the best way forward.
