Does Robins Fit Huddersfield Bill?

'Our model requires a manager with real passion, because it will be hard work. It might not be a job for someone who has been there and done it - their way.'

Huddersfield Town chairman Dean Hoyle, speaking to local paper The Examiner recently as he continues his search for a new manager to replace Simon Grayson.

Will that search stop at the Ricoh Arena?

Reports on Monday night suggest it will and that the Terriers will make an official approach for Coventry City boss Mark Robins after his successful start to turning around the Sky Blue supertanker after years of decline.

Huddersfield's success of recent seasons has been achieved by two former players of a similar vintage to Robins in Lee Clark and Simon Grayson so he would appear to fit the kind of profile favoured by Hoyle who also, however, has stressed that the budget available to the new man will be a lower-end one in Championship terms.

Having already worked in a relatively similar environment at Barnsley, will the potential unlocked by Robins positive early start to his time at the Ricoh Arena be enough to persuade him to stay if Huddersfield come calling?

Looks like there is a £100K release clause then it will be down to MR to decide. Personally I think City are a better long term bet given the potential that has been shown this season and the fact that the club are being run much better now. But they are in the Championship and it represents a step up in that sense.
