Murphy's Law For City

Mark Robins will have no hesitation in naming Joe Murphy as his starting goalkeeper for Saturday's game against Yeovil if the Irishman recovers from the strain that forced him off at half-time in the Johnstone's Paint tie with Crewe on Tuesday night.

Chris Dunn's big chance came and went as the Sky Blues conceded three second-half goals and, although Robins absolved him of any blame, it is clear that Murphy has become a fixture between the posts for City.

His early time at the club was marked out by the inevitable comparisons with Keiren Westwood but Robins has repeated the faith that Andy Thorn had in Murphy and made him a key part of his plans going forward.

As for Dunn, he will be disappointed not to have made more of an impact since signing at almost the same time as Murphy and, now aged 25, will surely look to go to another club as first-choice come the summer.

Saturday's Sky Blue opponents are also playing a waiting game on their goalkeeper for the game as Marek Stech is due to become a father and will not travel together with his teammates to the Ricoh Arena.
