Sky Blues Chasing A Different Option?

Former Coventry City loanee Gary Madine is being linked with a transfer deadline return to the Ricoh Arena.

Madine had a short spell with the Sky Blues when Chris Coleman was in charge as a raw youth who had run into disciplinary problems at Carlisle United. City were struggling at the time and his chances were few but since then Madine has proved himself at League One level with a prolific season at Sheffield Wednesday.

Moving up to the Championship has proved a struggle and that makes a loan exit from Hillsborough a possibility ahead of the transfer deadline on Thursday.

Madine would certainly offer the Sky Blues a different option up front for the remainder of the League One season and Cody McDonald's exit may have freed up the potential funds (with the JPT run also adding to any potential transfer and wages pot).

Would certainly offer a target man option in addition to the type of front men we have at the moment where Clarke and Elliott do a lot of work outside the box.
