Can Robins Become A Managerial Stayer?
Friday's sacking of Nigel Adkins by Southampton shocked the football world and once again threw into the spotlight the precarious nature of being a manager.
As a club that Coventry City are aiming to follow, by progressing from League One through the Championship and potentially back into the Premier League, the Saints decision certainly looks to have plunged them into turmoil after a period of stability at St Mary's.
The constant turnaround in managers is shown clearly on the League Managers Association website where a continually updated list of the longest serving bosses can be found.
Of 89 managers named, Mark Robins is already up to 64th in that table despite only coming to Coventry in September 2012. If he could make it into the top 20 by still being in charge at the start of the 2014/15 season the chances are that the Sky Blues will be halfway towards their top-flight goal.
