'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Long Way From Carlisle At Home

Coventry City's long trip to Carlisle on Sunday comes on the back of another exciting night at the Ricoh Arena in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and, as well as being a chance for the Sky Blues to boost their play-off ambitions, it is an opportunity to show how much the team has improved since the return fixture against the Cumbrians.

That game was Mark Robins first in charge and the new manager looked visibly shell-shocked when interviewed straight away after the game for a piece on the Football League Show.

Improvement, slowly at first and rapdily in the past two months, has banished early fears of relegation and it is now the home side who are in trouble as Coventry-born boss Greg Abbott deals with a defensive injury crisis and bad results on the field.

'The players have to react or they are going to find themselves in a bit of trouble as well," he told local newspaper the News & Star ahead of the Sky Blues game after a disappointing reverse against Swindon.

'As a group we have to do it together, not any one man, individual, me or one player. It has to be a collective effort and collectively we have to be better.'

Central defender Sean O'Hanlon has signed a deal until the end of the season at Brunton Park after a successful trial spell.
