A Test Of City's Progress

Doncaster Rovers take on Coventry City this weekend at the Keepmoat Stadium in a game that will provide a good test of just how far the Sky Blues have come under Mark Robins.

Rovers came down from the Championship alongside City last season (administering the final relegation dose themselves at the Ricoh Arena) and also faced a summer of rebuilding after the exit of a host of players on loan and short-term deals.

Manager Dean Saunders, however, has managed to put a winning team onto the pitch in very quick fashion and Rovers currently share top spot in League One with Tranmere Rovers.

Former Sky Blues midfielder Sammy Clingan recently signed a short-term deal in South Yorkshire and will come into contention to face his old side on Saturday after coming on as a substitute at Swindon last weekend. He netted for the visitors in last season's corresponding fixture.

City, meanwhile, will have to change a side that had begun to pick itself after Carl Baker's booking against Walsall earned him a one-match suspension.

John Fleck will come into contention to replace the captain.
