Pompey Add Trio Ahead Of City Clash

Coventry City's weekend opponents Portsmouth will have three new faces to choose from when they line-up at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday afternoon.

One of those players will be familiar to Pompey fans after Ricardo Rocha re-signed for the club on a short-term deal.

He is joined at Fratton Park by Oldham Athletic goalkeeper Alex Cisak and Birmingham City youngster Jake Jervis.

'The competition all over the pitch now is fantastic,' caretaker boss Guy Whittingham told The News.

'We have got some up front now which, for me, is the most important area - scoring goals.

'We had the same problem with centre-halves but, with Ricardo coming in, now we have got three of them.'

The Sky Blues themselves can now point to good competition for places in their ranks after a week in which the likes of Franck Moussa and Gary McSheffrey have impressed on their return to the first team while Adam Barton has also done well in two cameo appearances as a substitute.
