Notts wait on ex-City loanee

Saturday's League One clash at the Ricoh Arena sees Coventry City take on a Notts County side who have made a good start to the new season but who were beaten heavily by Sheffield United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Wednesday with the victorious Blades now facing the Sky Blues in the Northern Area quarter-finals.

Manager Keith Curle was without three league ever-presents for the midweek tie, including former Highfield Road loanee Dean Leacock. Alan Judge and Neal Bishop are also racing to be fit for the visit to CV6.

'They will be getting intensive treatment morning and afternoon,' Curle told the Nottingham Evening Post while lamenting the goals conceded by his side on Wednesday night.

For the home side, Richard Wood will play through a series of injury knocks that have damaged his appearance more than his ability to turn out on Saturday and will put off a nose operation to keep his place in the side.

Let's hope McGoldrick can do the business for City - it's reported today that Notts are keen on him too. Keith Curle in the Nottingham Evening Post says: "He is a player I like and it will be interesting to see exactly what his plans are come January."
