City's other road to Wembley

The FA Cup 1st Round draw has not held much interest for Coventry City supporters since the 1960's but, as the official club website reminds us on Tuesday, it is only just over two weeks until the Sky Blues are included in the hat alongside their fellow League One sides, those clubs in League Two and the 32 clubs who have made it through the qualifying stages.

A stark reminder of where City currently are in the pecking order but also an opportunity to meet new opposition, possibly be broadcast live on national TV (if ITV see us as potential giantkill) and another important lesson to hopefully be learned by the younger players at the club.

The Johnstone's Paint Trophy or the play-offs may offer a more realistic hope of a first trip to Wembley since the Charity Shield in 1987 but let's hope there is still some magic in the cup for City this season.
