'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McKenzie promises 100%

Leon McKenzie is looking to make an immediate impact when he makes his Coventry City debut against Ipswich Town next week.

The former Norwich City man will not be allowed to play against the Canaries at the weekend due to a clause in the £1m deal taking him to the Ricoh Arena.

He said: 'It is a massive disappointment that I am not allowed to play against Norwich this season but there was nothing I could do about it.'

McKenzie has been signed to add some pace and energy to the City forward line and added: 'Giving 100 per cent is the most important thing for me.

'I like to chase down and irritate defenders and try to force them into making mistakes.

'I don't stop running all game and if I can add a little bit of ability on top then I am happy.

'I have got a bit of pace and I am strong as well and hopefully I fit the bill for a Micky Adams' team.'

He can work the crowd, as well. Frankly, it's a good job that he cannot play against us so soon after accusing his loyal supporters of turning their backs on him. He has made a lot of enemies...
