Robins makes a positive impression

Mark Robins saw his Coventry City side make it four points from two games when they drew with MK Dons on Tuesday night and has created a positive first impression with most Sky Blues' supporters after his appointment as manager just over two weeks ago.

Interviewed on BBC CWR less than half-an-hour after the game against the Dons had finished, Robins gave a measured analysis of how the 90 minutes had played out.

It was a verdict which would have chimed with the thoughts of most of those in attendance as he praised City's opening and closing spells and made clear that they were lucky not to lose after a very sloppy beginning to the second-half.

His displeasure at the way his side backed off a slick Dons outfit and also failed to keep hold of the ball after the break was made clear in the interview but with the hint that his players had been told the same thing in more outspoken terms.

Very early days of course but at least a sense of purpose has returned to the playing side of the club. Robins looks to have a vision of where he wants City to be in a year's time (perhaps similar to where MK Dons are) and an idea of how to go about it.
