Blues look for cup kickstart

Blues look for cup kickstart

While Tuesday night's League Cup tie at the Ricoh Arena is a chance for Richard Shaw and Lee Carsley to stake their claims for the Coventry City job, it is also an opportunity for the visitors to kickstart their season.

New boss Lee Clark has overseen a disappointing start to the campaign, culminating in Saturday's defeat at Watford.

'It`s a tough one because I know there`s so much more in that dressing room,' said Clark.

'We`ve all got to respond, we`ve all got to bounce back and start winning football matches and find a way to win football matches.'

A host of names meanwhile are being linked with the Sky Blues hotseat but Shaw and Carsley are surely the front-runners having been brought in (or promoted in Carsley's case) during the summer and given the financial constraints the club are currently operating under.
