Sky Blues start off...

Coventry City's first taste of life in League One saw them make the journey south to Somerset on Saturday to face a Yeovil side intent on claiming what will be one of the division's prized scalps this season.

The Sky Blues, backed by 2,000+ travelling fans at Huish Park, were given a thorough examination at Dagenham on Tuesday night in the League Cup and knew that they would be in for more of the same against Gary Johnson's side.

Johnson's number two Terry Skiverton had warned City prior to the game, saying: 'Playing against Dagenham in the Capital One Cup, they will know what levels are below the Championship and their scouts will have watched us (against Colchester). They will go back with a word of warning that Yeovil will be no pushover on the day.'

Nine summer signings has given Andy Thorn more scope than at any time last season to make changes with Steven Jennings the latest new arrival after signing a two-year deal in midweek. Fellow midfielder and new arrival Adam Barton was also available for selection after returning from international duty.

Vital Coventry will have reaction from the game over the weekend as the Sky Blues look to make a flying start to what we all hope will be a promotion winning season.
