Comings and goings continue
Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon has signed Irish midfielder Gary Deegan from Coventry, a player who helped him to two League of Ireland titles at Bohemians.
Fenlon said on the club's official website: 'Gary is a player I've wanted to bring to Hibernian ever since I first came here to the football club.
'Gary is an honest, committed player, who is technically very good but who also won't get bullied in the middle of the park.
'He is a strong boy who will offer us something different in our midfield and he's the type of player our supporters will take to.
'Gary knows exactly what I expect from him and he is the type of character who won't let you down.'
Deegan, who will not be registered in time for Hibernian's Clydesdale Bank Premier League opener against Dundee United, said: 'I'm absolutely delighted to have signed for Hibs - it is a perfect move for me and I'm excited about what we can achieve in the season ahead.'
Deegan arrived at the Sky Blues with the nickname 'The Pit Bull' and a reputation that proceeded him but during his 48 games and 5 goals career at Coventry he really did not produce the goods to match the hype of his arrival although injury problems did set him back at times.
