Les (Sky) Bleus add another

William Edjenguele became Coventry City's fifth signing of the summer and their second new French central defender in the space of a week after agreeing a three-year deal with the Sky Blues on Tuesday.

25 and a free agent after playing in Greece, Edjenguele joins Kevin Malaga in linking up with City after a successful trial period.

Andy Thorn described his new signing as a 'strong, physical presence' and will see the central defensive positions as sorted even if Richard Keogh leaves as he now has Edjenguele, Malaga, Nathan Cameron and Richard Wood in that area with the likes of Jordan Clarke and Cyrus Christie able to fill in.

Both new Frenchmen will be looking to leave more of a mark on their new club than their fellow countrymen have in the past.

A quick scan of the Sky Blue record books comes up with the names of Eric Deloumeaux, a defensive midfielder under Eric Black and possibly the best of the bunch, calamity prone goalkeeper Fabian Debec and centre-back Jean-Guy Wallemme, currently coaching the Congo national side.
