'Ugly' win pleases Adams

'Ugly' win pleases Adams

Coventry boss Micky Adams was pleased with his side's battling qualities after Kevin Thornton's late goal secured a 1-0 win at Hull on Saturday.

The result puts City into the top-half of the Championship and Adams said afterwards: 'It was an ugly away win and both teams struggled.

'We changed our system to try to get a clean sheet, and we would have taken a 0-0, but a piece of magic won it for us.

'We might have to stifle teams a bit this season, but if we keep getting 1-0 wins I'll be happy.'
