'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Blast from the past - Liam Daish

Former Coventry City defender Liam Daish has survived the choppy waters of management to become the longest serving boss in the history of Conference side Ebbsfleet United.

Not only has Daish had to put up with the usual slings and arrows of sitting in the dugout but he has also been part of a unique football experiment since Ebbsfleet's takeover by the internet community MyFootballClub whose shareholders have their say on all matters connected with the club.

His new contract for instance was ratified by members with a 98.5% yes vote.

See the official Football Conference website for more on Daish's time in charge.

Signed from Birmingham City in February 1996 at a time when the Sky Blues seemingly had money to burn, Daish struggled with injuries during his time at Highfield Road and was forced into early retirement after making just 34 appearances for the club.
