Former City target leaves Bluebirds

Former City target leaves Bluebirds

Experienced striker Jon Parkin, who had a medical at Coventry City days before last August's transfer deadline, is a free agent after leaving Cardiff City.

The 30-year-old was due to move to the Ricoh Arena as part of the deal that took Ben Turner to Wales but could not agree personal termas with the Sky Blues.

Out of favour with Cardiff, Parkin spent the majority of the season out on loan at Doncaster, Huddersfield and Scunthorpe.

A statement on Cardiff's website read: 'We would like to thank Jon for his contribution to the club during his time in South Wales and wish him the best of luck in the future.'
