'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chase hots up for City talisman

Already linked with a move to Ipswich Town this summer, Coventry City's inspirational defender Richard Keogh is now being reported as a target for his former club Bristol City.

Keogh's displays in the face of adversity during the Sky Blues' dismal season have clearly not gone unnoticed across the Championship and, although he has become a firm favourite of the Ricoh Arena crowd, any decision on whether he stays or leaves is likely to be dictated by the ongoing financial woes at the club.

Bristol City manager Derek McInnes is thought to be keen on Keogh to play as a right-sided central defender in his side with his possible departure giving Andy Thorn another hole to fill in his squad before he can even begin to think about improvements.

New signings coming through the entrance door at the Ricoh depend first on the club's transfer embargo being lifted, a scenario the ever-positive Thorn is planning for.

"First of all we need to come out of the transfer embargo and then as soon as that happens we need to go bang, bang, bang," he told the Coventry Telegraph when discussing transfer targets.

"They are all there but until we come out of the embargo we can't do anything."
