Thorn on 'massive' time for Sky Blues

Andy Thorn says he has everything in place to strengthen his Coventry City squad once the club's transfer embargo is lifted.

Calling the post-season period a 'massive' time for the Sky Blues he told the official club website that he had been working closely with development director Steve Waggott to identify player targets and pre-season preparations.

'It's important to put in the hard work now.'

One of Thorn's targets is thought to be Sky Blues supporter James Collins. The striker played a key role in Shrewsbury's promotion to League One this season but will soon be out of contract.

***Update***The club have released a joint statement which states that 'transparent, constructive and encouraging' talks took place between itself, SISU, the City Council and the Higgs Charity on Thursday afternoon.
