'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McSheffrey admits: 'It's not been good enough'

Although his penalty miss was the key moment in Tuesday night's game against Millwall which all but condemned Coventry City to relegation, Gary McSheffrey has called the season as a whole 'not good enough' as Sky Blues players and supporters face up to life in League One.

McSheffrey's improved form and the loan signings of Alex Nimely and Oliver Norwood have made City far more competitive in 2012 but the local lad told the Coventry Telegraph: 'We let in too many late goals at the beginning of the season when we were leading games.

'We always had a mountain to climb.'

Saturday's final home opponents Doncaster Rovers are likely to blood some youngsters after their relegation was confirmed last week.

With the club set to end the transfer policy that saw the likes of El Hadji Diouf come to South Yorkshire, manager Dean Saunders made changes for the trip to Middlesbrough and was especially pleased with teenage left-back James Husband.
