'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cardiff boss praises Sky Blues

'Coventry are a team who have only been beaten once in eight games so they have a resilience.

'They are fighting for their lives, but we have to cut out the errors.'

That was the verdict of Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay after seeing his side pegged back in injury time by the Sky Blues, a result that keeps Andy Thorn's men in with a chance of surviving in the Championship.

City were unlucky to even be trailing going into the final minutes after a storming second-half display that saw them score through Jordan Clarke and miss a penalty.

'We had to change a lot of things at half-time,' said Thorn. 'In fact, I was pleased to get in at just 1-0 down.

'I spoke to the players and told them to go out, play football and enjoy themselves.

'One of my analysts said that Cardiff concede a lot of goals in the last 15 minutes of games so the players had to keep going. But I didn't expect it to come that late.

'We are pleased to pick up points in two big away games. We have shown we will fight all the way.'
