Super Sky Blues level it late

Coventry City are now three points adrift of the safety mark in the Championship after Oliver Norwood scored in stoppage time at Cardiff on Wednesday night.

Former Sky Blue schoolboy Peter Whittingham looked to have won the game for the hosts with seven minutes left but defeat would have been cruel for the visiting side.

City gave it everything they had, taking the game to their hosts after the break in a bid to reverse Cody McDonald`s first-half goal.

Gary McSheffrey missed an early chance to do so from the penalty spot but when Jordan Clarke finished coolly with twenty minutes left it looked as though Andy Thorn`s men would go on and record that elusive first away win.

Whittingham had other ideas but Norwood's goal sets up Saturday`s Ricoh Arena clash against Portsmouth where both sides will need all three points.
