'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sky Blues away woes continue

A hard-fought relegation battle at the City Ground on Saturday ended in familiar fashion for Coventry City as they went down 2-0 to Nottingham Forest to remain winless away from home in the league this season.

Both sides had chances to ease their nerves before a superb individual goal from Garath McCleary broke the deadlock for the hosts who then wrapped the game up through Findley's strike.

A lost opportunity for the Sky Blues to build on the optimism generated by their midweek win over Leeds and ground lost to Forest in the battle to stay up.

Andy Thorn felt McCleary's goal was 'soft' and left disappointed at the result.

"I came to try and win the game and I genuinely felt it was there for us today but now we have to pick ourselves up," he said.

"We are back at home next week and our form there has been decent."

Opposite number Steve Cotterill felt his side 'got what they deserved' after an improved second-half display.

"We have played better and lost games and a week ago we played some really good football and could have beaten Watford 5-0 but had to settle for a 1-1 draw. But results are all important to us."
