Reading boss joins the ranks

Brian McDermott praised Coventry City's display against his Reading side on Saturday, saying that the Sky Blues 'play good football' and 'we had to get into the game'.

He joins Ian Holloway and Derby County coach Andy Garner in paying compliments to Andy Thorn's side this year.

What the trio also have in common unfortunately is that they were speaking after their teams beat the Sky Blues on home soil.

Those expecting an easy game against the bottom club in the Championship are being surprised by the away side's performances but not the final result.

Compliments come easy to rivals managers in such situations and when City come in for a bit of criticism perhaps for a lucky goal or a bit of rough play then we'll know that fortunes have improved.
