'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sky Blues v Ipswich: match reaction

Andy Thorn was left with little to do but repeat a familiar refrain after watching his Coventry City side lose in injury-time for the second successive game on Saturday.

While making sure he praised the 'workrate and commitment' of his players, the City boss was at a loss to explain why once again the Sky Blues had been undone in the dying stages of a match.

'It's happening every week and I just can't tell you why.'

Both sides deserve credit for producing an entertaining game in difficult conditions but that will be of little consolation to the City players, who must now be quietly accepting their fate in the Championship this season.

'That's two games on the spin we've lost like that and it's very hard to take,' said Richard Keogh.

Visiting boss Paul Jewell felt that the game could have gone either way in the closing minutes as neither side settled for a point.

Of the late goal he said: 'It's happened to us on numerous occasions this season so it was nice to get one that went for us.'
