Sky Blues versus Ipswich Town

Coventry City return to the comfort of home on Saturday looking to make it four league wins on the spin at the Ricoh Arena and once again repair the damage done by an away performance which promised much and delivered nothing.

Blackpool's late comeback on Tuesday night leaves the Sky Blues with little margin for error in their home form as they bid to keep in touch with the teams who hover just above the dreaded dotted line which will separate the Championship from League One come May.

Ipswich Town are one of those teams but will make the journey across to the West Midlands in good spirits after hammering league leaders West Ham United on Tuesday night, a result as unexpected as it was welcome for the Portman Road faithful and previously under-fire manager Paul Jewell.

'debut'

Manchester United midfielder Oliver Norwood will be in contention for a City debut after his deadline move with Tuesday night's goalscorer Conor Thomas an injury doubt for the game.

Sky Blues striker Gary McSheffrey speaking to the official club website: 'Our home form has been good and Ipswich got a great win the other night which will give them a lift and some confidence but we need to string wins together.

'We've had some great wins at home this season but up to now just not quite managed to follow it up with that win away.

'Having said that we still feel our home form will be the difference in getting us out of the situation we are in.'

The visitors meanwhile will once again be without Lee Bowyer.
