'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A better week for the Sky Blues

Coventry City fans relaxing in a free weekend away from their relegation fight can reflect on what has been the club's best seven days for quite some time.

Both the result and the performance against Middlesbrough last Saturday gave hope that the Sky Blues can make a real fist of survival in the remaining 20 games of the season. Alex Nimely's display meanwhile gave supporters a player to get excited about, one with a touch of arrogance to his play as well as good pace and awareness.

Safety remains a long way off and City's dire away form needs to improve asap but Andy Thorn now has some options at his disposal to change the way his side play on the road.

'charm'

Off the field there has been something of a charm offensive from the club hierarchy confirming that talks are being scheduled with the Hoffman consortium and looking to explain both the ownership structure and give a breakdown of the financial situation.

Whatever SISU say they will not convince some people but as the only show in town at present the communication that has come from the club this week (through both the official website and the Coventry Telegraph) has been much improved and is to be welcomed.

Coventry Sphinx meanwhile have reduced prices for their important game at home to Boldmere St Michaels on Saturday to just £2 for adults and £1 for children and concessions as they look to attract some Sky Blues' supporters down to Siddeley Avenue.
