Elsewhere...Championship transfer latest

A breather in Coventry City's season after the excellent 3-1 win over Middlesbrough brought some cautious optimism to the Sky Blues' survival fight.

The FA Cup takes centre stage this weekend meaning Andy Thorn's squad have the chance to prepare fully for next Tuesday's trip to Blackpool and hopefully get back one or two of their walking wounded in the meantime.

Elsewhere in the Championship a number of clubs are strengthening ahead of the transfer deadline in a bid to boost promotion hopes or stave off the threat of relegation.

Boosted by investment from a Russian tycoon, Reading have added to their ranks with Tomasz Cywka following his release by Derby and experienced Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts.

Promotion-chasing Southampton have completed a deal for Japanese forward Tadanari Lee while their rivals West Ham are keen on Rangers' frontman Nikica Jelavic.

'exodus'

Ipswich Town are the next visitors to the Ricoh Arena and the struggling Suffolkers have made bids for five players in the past week, two of whom are believed to be from beleagured Portsmouth as talk of a mass exodus from Fratton Park accompanies the latest financial crisis on the south coast.

Leeds are being linked with Enar Jaager while Leicester City are pursuing their interest in Nottingham Forest defender Wes Morgan and Derry City's Daniel Lafferty is a target for Burnley.
