Thorn: 'more to come' from new loan star

Andy Thorn was a satisfied man after seeing his Coventry City side beat Middlesbrough on Saturday with his two new signings settling in straight away and striker Alex Nimely in particular becoming an instant favourite of the Ricoh Arena.

City fans have been holding out for a hero all season and the Manchester City loanee made the vacancy his own straight away with a goal, two assists and an all-round display that brought the best out of his new teammates.

'People hadn't heard of him before today,' said Thorn.

'Well they have heard of him now! He's a real talent this boy and I am so pleased that we could get him under the radar.

'There is still more to come from him but he gave us a different dimension and Platty did really well for us. Gary McSheffrey was buzzing too.'

It was easy to forget for 90 minutes that City remain bottom of the Championship and favourites for relegation as they treated their long-suffering fans to an excellent win.

Thorn added: 'I am desperate to do well for our supporters and I was pleased for them that we could score three and they can see with these additions (Nimely and Herman Hreidarsson) where we are trying to go.'
