Derby County 1 Coventry City 0
Coventry City travelled to Pride Park on Saturday looking to achieve their first away victory of the season at the thirteenth time of asking in the league.
They did so without top goalscorer Lukas Jutkiewicz following his move to Middlesborugh and also without new loan signing Alex Nimely, who will link up with the Sky Blues next week. That meant that Freddy Eastwood came in from the cold, making the substitute's bench after his midweek double for the reserves.
The Rams meanwhile went into the game in good spirits following an excellent run of form and it was the home side who took the points thanks to a Ball striker 15 minutes from time.
Derby enjoyed the bulk of the chances and will feel they deserved the win. For City it was once again the same old story away from home as they remain rock bottom of the Championship.
Andy Thorn said afterwards: "I didn't think there was anything between the teams and we acquitted ourselves well but I think it's evident we need someone who can put the ball in the net.
"If we had that killer instinct in front of goal we would be in the top 10."
