Super Sky Blues sink Seagulls

2011 ended on a high for Coventry City as they made it two wins out of two over the holiday period by seeing off Brighton & Hove Albion at the Ricoh Arena.

The confidence gained from Boxing Day's triumph against Bristol City was clear for all to see and the Sky Blues, not without some scares, were good value for the three points, earned through goals from McSheffrey and Jutkiewicz.

Local hero McSheffrey was a key man throughout, setting up the second goal after notching the opener and he, David Bell and Carl Baker again appeared to revel in the time they managed to get on the ball.

Bristol City's win at leaders Southampton on Friday night means the gap between City and safety remains five points and Andy Thorn's men face a tough trip to West Ham on Monday but the year ends with unexpected hope in the hearts of all Sky Blues supporters.
