Both skippers out of Posh clash
Both sides will be missing their captains when Peterborough United meet Coventry City in the Championship at London Road on Saturday.
Sammy Clingan's importance to the Sky Blues was highlighted by the insipid display given in his absence against Hull City on Saturday and the Northern Irishman will be out for the festive period.
As too will Posh skipper and Clingan's international teammate Grant McCann after he tore a medial knee ligament against Leicester at the weekend.
'10 weeks is a worst-case scenario, but I hope I'm back as quickly as possible. I've always been a quick healer,' McCann told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
'I've had operations on both knees before and I was back playing within four weeks. Fingers crossed, hopefully, I don't need an operation.'
The man who filled Clingan's holding role at the weekend, Aston Villa loanee Gary Gardner, is enjoying his time at the Ricoh Arena despite yet to be on the winning (or drawing) side.
'To play first team football anywhere is good and Coventry have looked after me,' he told The Coventry Telegraph.
'The players are good and the facilities and stadium too and I just want to help the club push on.'
