Championship: more woe for Portsmouth

Coventry City travel to Fratton Park this weekend for a crucial Championship fixture against a Portsmouth side who may be reeling from a fresh bout of financial bad news.

Chairman Vladimir Antonov, who only took over the club in the summer, has resigned and parent company Convers Sports Initiatives have entered administration.

That does not mean a points deduction as yet as the company that operates the football club itself is not in administration but the Football Association are set to look at whether the parent company and the club are a single economic entity.

'I don't hold out much hope the club will avoid at least a 10-point loss,' lawyer Guy Thomas told BBC Sport.

Such a deduction would, as things stand, drop Pompey to the foot of the table but even if no penalty is imposed does the continuing woe of the football club and its succession of mysterious owners and consortiums paint a more positive picture of SISU at the Ricoh Arena?

Pompey's various owners make SISU look like Jack Walker but they are hardly a yardstick for anyone running a club to measure themselves against
