'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coventry City latest

Coventry City will revert away from Andy Thorn's preferred diamond formation when they take on West Ham United at the Ricoh Arena this Saturday.

Thorn is looking to make his side more solid at the back after they were carved open too easily by Southampton in the first half of their last outing.

'As much as I love playing that way and open, I feel that maybe we are a little bit too open so we'll work on it and see how we go,' he told the Coventry Telegraph.

Thorn is set to have more options at his disposal for the visit of the second-placed Hammers with Gael Bigirimana back from suspension and Richard Wood, James McPake and Chris Hussey fit again.

The manager also feels that Gary McSheffrey is ready to show his best form after a disappointing campaign to date.

'Sheffs is back on it and looking good and it is nice to see a few more bodies back on the training pitch.'

Canadian businessman Leonard Brody meanwhile has stepped down from the club's board of directors claiming pressure of work.

Former Sky Blues bosses Aidy Boothroyd and Iain Dowie and ex-City player Eoin Jess are being mentioned as potential new bosses at Northampton Town following Gary Johnson's departure.
