'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Same old story as Sky Blues slip

Coventry City lie four points adrift of safety in the Championship after yet another dismal away day for the Sky Blues.

Goalless at half-time in Tuesday night's game at Millwall, Andy Thorn's side conceded three times after the break to add to the gloom surrounding the club this season.

With consecutive home games coming up against the top two sides in the division, Southampton and West Ham, the Sky Blues' season is fast approaching a critical stage.

Thorn's faith in the quality of his players is not being borne out by results on the pitch and, for the sake of his team and his own position, the manager must now start banging the drum for loan signings to be made sooner rather than later.

His furious reaction to the second half display when interviewed afterwards will have gained him sympathy from many fans but Thorn will know only too well that is not players who get their P45's when this situation arises.

More news to come on a bad night for the Sky Blues on Vital Coventry.

It would be no surprise now to see SISU give Thorn the axe and bring someone else in

really hoped for something tonight, very disappointed. No idea which way we turn after tonight

Thorn was furious after the game and rightly so, blaming his senior players for the way they played in the second half but, sadly, it will be him who gets the chop and not them.
CET Stander
Thorn is only 20 games in to his managerial career but has been forced to do the job with both hands tied behind his back. He deserves time but I fear he is unlikely to get it.
