Championship: Beattie to Watford & Sven sacked

Leicester City's opening day win at the Ricoh Arena was supposed to signal the start of a serene passage to the Championship title after a summer of heavy spending by the club's new owners.

The man entrusted with their money however has received his marching orders after a heavy home defeat by struggling Millwall capped an inconsistent start to the campaign.

Sven Goran Eriksson is once again looking for a new job therefore while the Foxes begin the search for the man who can pull together a squad of big-money signings in time for their expected promotion to materialise.

Elsewhere, Watford have snapped up Swansea City striker Craig Beattie on loan.

The Scot will stay at Vicarage Road until January while Brighton & Hove Albion have signed experienced goalkeeper Steve Harper on a one-month deal from Newcastle United.

Sven sacked? There's always someone worse off than yourself. At least the Sky Blues have no false expectations as we haven't spent any money!
CET Stander
the fans are more supportive of the team and Andy Thorn because of the 100% effort this season than last season, when we had 'the big name' players.
